Enjoy the fine view of Hodroyd Hall on your left. After passing Hodroyd House, take the signposted field path on the left. - Cross the Fields & Enter South Hiendley
Follow the field path across open countryside to reach Tun Lane. Turn left and walk to the junction, then turn right onto George Street. Cross the road and continue 50 metres to the front of the old Police Station. - Follow the Path to South Hiendley Primary School
Turn onto the signposted narrow path beside the Old Police Station. Walk past the front of South Hiendley Primary School, cross a farm lane, and continue along a green footpath leading to the duck pond. - Pass the Duck Pond & Cross the Main Road
Walk past the pond, then carefully cross the main road. Bear left and turn right at the fingerpost just before the Doctor’s Surgery. - Follow the Farm Track
Walk along a broad farm track for about 300 metres until it turns sharply left. - Climb the Hill to the Recreation Ground
Leave the farm track at this point and continue straight ahead over a wooden stile. Follow a green track uphill with a hedge on your right-hand side. After about 400 metres, reach a group of three wooden stiles. Climb over the right-hand stile into the recreation ground, then bear left and walk alongside the wooded area to return to Kirkgate Lane. - Return to the Church
Turn left onto Kirkgate Lane and follow it back to the Lych Gate to complete the walk.
Additional Notes:
- Weather Considerations: The footpaths can be slippery or sludgy during or after wet weather, so take extra care, particularly on grassy or shaded sections.
- Alternative Start Points: If starting from South Hiendley, you can begin at the school or the bottom of the common and follow the route in reverse.
