WHAT HAPPENS NEXT FOR FELKIRK HERITAGE
You will have seen a brief history and heritage of our beautiful village of Felkirk which is steeped in historic buildings.
The history of Felkirk is factual although some remains are undiscovered.
The heritage of Felkirk is what we have left and will largely be protected by future generations.
Therefore there is much to be done by those of us who are interested to preserve and protect this area and to ensure it is appreciated by a wider public and future generations.
Some of the ideas we have which require further development within The History and Heritage groups are:
- Broadening the appeal and accessibility to the church schoolroom.
- Seasonal guided walks around Felkirk finishing with organized refreshments and discussion
- Gaining pre arranged access to Hodroyd Hall Grounds
- Further initiatives needed to protect the Tannery
- Research a more specific history of Felkirk House
- Developing initiatives to involve younger generations and particularly supervised school children
There will be other work to be done to reveal, protect and publicise our heritage!
PLEASE KEEP US ADVISED OF ANY IDEAS YOU HAVE OR LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE MORE INVOLVED IN OUR FRIENDLY AND INFORMAL GROUP.
